Art as Writing and Writing as Art

In ancient China, Japan, India and the Middle East, writing and art were one. Slowly they have separated, but the influence of the written stroke and painting remain strong, especially in the modern art of the West.

We hope to explore and celebrate this link between word and image in this unique workshop. Because the workshop is introductory, mastery is not the goal. The intention is to give a taste of other workshops such as Creative Writing, Collage, Calligraphic Painting, Abstract Painting, Watercolor and Improv Games.

Fees: $60/person.
4 meetings, 6 - 8:30 PM
Tuesdays, June 6, 13, 20 & 27, 2006.
